My Story

My journey with health began at a young age as I struggled with chronic sinus infections and asthma - I felt like I was always sick. These issues were treated with years of inhalers, antibiotics, steroids, and several surgeries in hopes of finding relief. Eventually, the sinus infections and asthma seemingly disappeared only for a host of new issues like stomach pains, irregular bowel movements, and food sensitivities to take over.

Struggling to find answers, I was led to believe that IBS and digestive discomfort were normal and something I would deal with for the rest of my life.

From here, I began to struggle with my relationship with food. I started to label foods as good and bad and became very restrictive in my eating. Between my low calorie, restrictive diet, a lifestyle of overexercising, and poor stress management I lost my period, my hair was falling out, I was exhausted all the time all while still dealing with ongoing gut issues. Needless to say, I wasn’t doing great despite eating a clean diet!

Finally in 2018, after falling asleep at a stoplight, I knew something was not right. My doctor and I decided to check into my thyroid health. However, everything appeared “normal” according to the lab results. I was simply offered thyroid medication as my only option to help with symptoms.

I left the doctor’s office that day feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unheard.

Looking back, what I needed was someone to put the pieces together. My gut health was causing severe nutritional deficiencies and detox issues that were snowballing into hormonal and metabolic issues. What I needed, was someone to hear how I was feeling, and go after the root cause, not just finding ways to mask the symptoms. What I needed was a holistic-minded practitioner that could teach me how to support my gut, heal my metabolism, and put my health back together.

I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner so that I can help you regain your health by supporting your gut, restoring your metabolism, and balancing your hormones through nutrient-dense, traditional foods.
