Gut Healing Apple Gummies

This recipe could not be more simple - 2 ingredients, 5 minutes of prep time and you have yourself a gut healthy nourishing snack! Gelatin is the key ingredient in this snack giving them their “gummy” texture. Similar to collagen, gelatin is a protein made by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, and/or bones with water and is rich in gut healing nutrients like glycine and easy to digest protein. Consuming gelatin regularly can support the restoration and repair of the gut lining which is an important step in healing your gut.

The Importance of Snacks

Having easy snacks on hand is also a great way to lower stress hormones and boost your metabolic function. When we go low periods of time without eating, we can experience drops in our blood sugar. This triggers a stress response in the body to access stored energy. While this is a normal function in the body, think of this as the emergency reserve system. To keep your cells fueled, it calls out your stress hormones to save the day. This is not a function that we want to rely on regularly in the body. Eating within 30-60 minutes of waking up and then every 3-4 hours throughout the day is a great way to keep your blood sugar stable and your stress hormone low.

If you struggle with a low appetite these gummies can be a great way to implement snacks throughout your day. If you struggle with eating first thing in the morning, again, these can be a great tool to help encourage your appetite to return in the morning without leaving you feeling bloating or overly full.
